effect of bioethanol-gasoline fuel blends on an si engine exhaust emissions
Authors
abstract
in this paper, the effect of bioethanol- gasoline fuel blends on exhaust emissions of a four-cylinder spark ignition (si) engine was investigated experimentally. pure gasoline fuel was blended with various percentages of bioethanol (0, 20, 40, 60 and 85%), and the hc, co, co2 and nox exhaust emissions were measured at different engine speeds and two throttle valve positions (full throttle and 50% throttle valve).the experimental results showed that as the ratio of bioethanol fuel is increased in the blend, the co and hc emissions are decreased but co2 and nox are increased at two throttle valve positions. also when the speed of engine was increased, the hc and co2 emissions were decreased but co and nox emissions were increased. the statistical analysis indicated that the effect of bioethanol percentage in fuel blends on emissions at 5% level was significant.

Influence of oxygen-enrichment air intake and bioethanol–gasoline blends on exhaust emissions and fuel consumption of gasoline engine
Among human activities, motor vehicles play the most important role in air pollution. Air pollution has negative impacts on people and on the environment. In this paper the effect of oxygen-enriched air (20.8%, 21.8%, 22.8%, 23.8% and 24.8%) and different bioethanol-gasoline blends (zero, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%) in different engine speeds (1000 rpm, 2000 rpm and 3000 rpm) on the amount o...

full textStudying Simultaneous Injection of Natural Gas and Gasoline Effect on Dual Fuel Engine Performance and Emissions
According to the Global Fuel Crisis, it seems necessary to use alternative fuel instead of gasoline. Since the natural gas is cheaper, have higher frequency than gasoline and less pollution, it is a suitable fuel. Many efforts have been done in order to replace gasoline with natural gas. One of the methods is to inject natural gas and gasoline fuel simultaneously and to use the benefits of both...
full textAn Experimental Study on the Effects of Bioethanol-Unleaded Gasoline Blends on Engine Performance in a Spark Ignition Engine
In the present study, the effects of bioethanolunleaded gasoline blends on engine performance were investigated in a spark ignition engine. Fuel containing 100% ethanol (E100), fuel blend containing 40% bioethanol by volume (E40) and 100% unleaded gasoline (E0) were tested and the test results were compared. As the result of the study, it was found that the use of unleaded gasoline and bioethan...
